The SPM Value Journey is a practical exploration of how leaders, portfolio stakeholders, delivery teams, and individual contributors leverage Strategic Portfolio Management capabilities to make better decisions, align investments to strategy, optimize resources, accelerate execution, and demonstrate business value. By following the flow of work from intake through delivery and outcome realization, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of not only what SPM capabilities do, but how they enable every persona to contribute to a connected, transparent, and value-driven enterprise.
Session 2: We'll focus on intake from many different perspectives. If you're a business owner, you'll see how to propose strategic initiatives and navigate evaluation. If you're a product manager, you'll see how to manage hundreds of incoming requests and protect your roadmap. If you're a demand manager or idea manager, you'll see how to make sure the voice of your users is heard and prioritized. You'll see how these roles work together in intake to move work from raw ideas and user requests to approved, funded, ready-to-execute demand.
Session 3: We’ll show how Portfolio Owners and Product Owners define strategic direction aligned to the organization's strategies & goals and then use them to evaluate and prioritize all their ongoing and new initiatives into a balanced, budgeted portfolio. You'll see how they align initiatives to strategic objectives, rank priorities against available budget and capacity, allocate financial resources, and maintain real-time visibility into portfolio health through financial progress, status, and completion metrics. This is where strategy becomes an executable, budgeted roadmap.
Session 4: We’ll focus on the execution leadership roles—Project Managers, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters—and how they operationalize prioritized work within ServiceNow. You’ll see how they organize work into projects, backlogs, and sprints, manage dependencies and risks, and ensure that delivery stays aligned with business priorities.
Session 5: We’ll close the loop by showing how prioritized and planned work is executed by team members in real time. The audience will see how individual contributors interact with tasks, update progress, and collaborate, all within a connected platform.
